Matsuzaka pitched a complete game in his eighth Major League start.

It wasn't perfect but the result was good. Moreover, his strong fastball driven pitching style was back.

After Ichiro, Matsuzaka also walked the next two batters to load the bases. Matsuzaka didn’t blame the walk to Ichiro for starting this disaster.

"I don’t know why. I was thinking about it for a while after leaving the mound. Since I have continued pitching this way, I have to do something about it.”
Matsuzaka looked puzzled when asked about his first inning disaster.
